How do you move your wood (backyard style)?

From the shed to the house I use a wheelbarrow and a wood ramp to get past the steps (3) up on to the deck. My shed is 15' from the deck.
Piled high the wheelbarrow holds enough for 24 hours. I try to plan refilling it for the afternoon refire after work when it is usually a little wamer than in the morning.
I use the snowblower to clear a path between the deck and the shed.
A wheel barrow is more manueverable and easier to move fully loaded than a wagon unless you use an atv or tractor. If you are buying a wheelbarrow buy one with a steel tray. My first one had a plastic tray that cracked when I tried to move a load of bricks in cold weather.

If your yard isn't level or close to level you will need a wagon or trailer and power equipment to pull it.

I made this trailer. I've found that you need to split it immediately before you load it on the trailer or immediately after it comes off the trailer and then stack it once until you need it. This eliminates unnecessary steps.
I also load it onto this trailer in the heating season and park it by my rear door.

Here is how I have been moving mine. In the winter I have been using just the bucket to bring the wood right to the back door as long as the ground is frozen. I try to watch the weather and if we are going to get warmer temps I stack a week or two's worth on the covered front porch and carry it in from there as needed

It's nothing fancy but it is what I have available. Takes a while to move the stuff around, but who is in a hurry????? If I am cutting rounds, they are split right next to the stacks so I do not have to handle the wood an extra time.

I try to split as them as the rounds come off the truck. I use my '68 IH Cub Cadet 125 and cart to move the splits down to the stacks and bacl up to the house. For the first 7 years at the house it was a wheelbarrow only operation.

If I haul a large load to load up my bin and theres no snow I use the cart attached to my garden tractor like the ones shown above, once the snow flies I use this

FB, I think you can get six more splits on top of that pile in the wheelbarrow.

The pony can be fun to work with, but lately he has been trying and dangerous.
I also have a lawn tractor with a cart, which is good if there is no rough terrain or steep hill. Tough stuff, the pony is best. It is surprising how much weight the pony can pull.

Never really thought about the sig line......372XP is my newest and my work horse. So far that with a 24" has been all I needed. It's real "fun" with the 18" though.

I use the truck to get the wood home, unload in the splitting area, and then toss splits into the cart. Its easy to handle, stable, and pretty durable. I put a sheet of 1/2 inch plywood on the bottom to serve as a bedliner, and it's holding up great. I then haul them up to the stacking area. I would love to split right next to the stacking area, but its rocky, uneven ground. Part of the reason I stack there is because I couldn't use that part of the yard for anything else, and it gets good breeze.
