How do you clean your glass?

I use Cerama Stove Bryte sold for kitchen ceramic stove tops from HD. Not sure how it compares in price to Rutland but lasts a long time (doesn't take much).

There have been warnings that the ammonia in window cleaners can fog the ceramic window on a stove.

Just cleaned the stove, on the glass I used a new to me cleaner; Imperial Glass and Fireplace Cleaner. I got it on sale at a feed/hardware/country store and thought I would give it a try. It actually worked great, took the black crude off in no time as good as the Rutland. Getting ready for the storm that is supposed to be here Monday!!

I believe the manual for my Harman says to use a damp paper towel. That is what I do, dry it off with another paper towel, and it is good. I was pleasantly surprised; it works much easier, faster and better than when I had to use the cleaner for the glass in the woodstove I used to have.

These guys make most of the Glass used in our stoves.
They used to sell directly to the consumers but no longer do.

No, no, no, only hot water will do the job do not spend money on this it’s not like a wood stove, it does not react the same way it’s only dust.

Why hot.. Most of the time I clean it, my door and glass is still a little hot so the glass wont thermo break or explode on me if the stove is cool then cold water will do the job

Not big on chemicals in this household, I use the blue glass cleaner from Method products and it does a good job.

I have some spray 9 fireplace cleaner and Imperial FP glass cleaner. Paper towel moistened and dipped into a little ash leaves less streaking for me though so that's what I use now

I've been using the Rutland. It works well and a bottle lasts a really long time. My bottle is 2 years old (and still going) after cleaning the glass once a week.
It can be had here at a reasonable price.

I just got some and used it for the first time. I've only had, hmm, 5 hours burn since then but I swear the glass not only got cleaner, it's staying cleaner (the "conditioning" part?). And after the bottle arrived from Amazon, looking at it -- it seemed familiar. Down in the workshop, I found an unused bottle, who knows how many years old -- probably came with my Grizzly wood-burning insert and never used. Well, now I have an adequate supply on hand.

I hate to be an agony aunt but you are wrong Pascal. Sometimes, if everything is perfect there will only be dust. If you are not running pure pine pellets and your stove does any low running it is highly likely to develop a film of gunge on the glass that water won't move.

well well, sorry to ear that cause at the moment we have over 40 sabrina and 15 monia sold and they are all cleaning out whit water, hot water. and no one has complained about their cleaning, but !? ( they where all adjusted by me and there is no black in there window and if they have to call me back so I can do my job correctly I must have mist something an it did hasppen once cause the chemney was longer then usual
None where sold without personal adjustment in there own houses ) ‘’ some dealers say they adjust the stove at the store LOL..’’ I say it's only good money for the dealer. whitch I am but I continue to recommend to use hot water, and folks out there, just try it ! then comment on it, I'll be more then pleased.

If you can time your glass cleaning for immediately after the stove has cooled off enough to turn the blowers off, the grime on the glass is much easier to remove.

just use a cloth and rince it, I use two old rags per whinter, it's even better for environment lol...
