I shovel a lot. My buildings are at funny angles and I have walk ways that I can't get with the plow or the tractor. This is my favorite shovel:

It's not to big so you don't kill your self when it's full and it has a long handle which is great if your tall or simply don't like bending over. If they had one in the same configuration that was plastic I would give it a look to avoid the sticking snow issue but that really is only an issue a couple of times a year. A little wax fixes the problem if you are proactive.
I've used all kinds of different shovels, the bigger grain scoops, pushers/scoops what have you and this is the best IMHO.
I just bought a new one, the last one was about 15 years old and still useable but was getting worn.
