It's $3.31 per gallon here right now. I dont know if I should hold off or not. I am guessing I will need about 175 gallons. (what we burned last year)
Any thoughts on what the price will do?

As we head closer to the season, I thinx its safe to say its gonna climb! Pellets are climbing as well.

Hello

I picked my stash of 204 gallons at $3.46 per gallon a couple of weeks ago. Stash Hmm like wood pellets, do not need any more till next summer!! That is the pellet pig in me Oink Oink!!

I do see Oil just went down a tad! $3.40 instead of $3.46 Could have saved $12.24 See new chart below:

I use 225 gallons per year now tops with the wood pellets!! So I am free to buy oil when I want !!

Oh well all set till next summer with pellets and oil.

So this winter will cost $620 for pellet heat and the DHW is $710. Now I have to do a Solar Hot Water Project next! LOL

Right now, cheapest price I see advertised here is $3.429 at CODOil.com......I can probably get it for about .05 cheaper from local discount company that guarantees to beat any advertised price, so I'm guessing I can get it for about $3.379 or so.

Time to fill the tank....I think Jay is right about prices going up.....soon.

I don't think so. Oil is down and people aren't buying. They're going to break and Winter won't start till December this year. If we get another 500pt drop my guess is heating oil will hit $3.00/gallon before Oct.

During the recent market plunge, the price of crude went down, but HHO stayed the same, or even rose some.

But, I hope you're right.

I noticed that too in terms of diesel fuel and gasoline. If another big market drop comes in mid to late September or early October...and if the general trend is unseasonable warmth and no hurricanes enter the Gulf of Mexico, I think heating fuel (oil/propane) will come down a bit.

My thinking is the distributors got beaten up pretty badly during the peak crude $ era, they are now attempting to make up a little ground ($) and once they see what long term trends (3-6 months) will be, they'll start making some pricing adjustments.

Right now, things are SO UNSTABLE, that they'd be foolish to drop the price too much on market whims.

It isn't unlike what other business and for that matter the American consumer is going through. There is so much uncertainty that nobody wants to make a commitment to do anything.

3.23 here in central <aine

Didn't dare to wait any longer with the markets the way they are. Just ordered my 200 gallons for the year at $3.349.

It's right around $3.90/gal here. At the pump though it's $4.30-4.40
