My Harman XXV has 2 small holes in the burn pot at 10 and 2 to the auger. I understand that these holes have something to do with the way the stove operates for combustion. I used a paperclip and initially found them both plugged but after a bit of picking, the holes opened up and I can stick the paperclip in approx 2". My question is where do those holes go and should I see the paperclip pop through in the ignitor area below the burnpot?
I've cleaned the unit pretty extensively with the exception of these 2 holes which are mentioned no where in the Harman manual. The stove burns with a lazy flame and exhaust slowly emits from the machine. Lastly, the error light blinks 3 times after only a couple of minutes of running. I have replace the ESP sensor although that didn't change the 3 blinks error code.
I really think the combustion is being effected by these 2 holes that appear clogged.
Any guidance would be appreciated...Thanks!

The holes are for combustion air being pulled into the fire pot
also for igniter heat to fire pellets on start-up
Like the rest of the stove, they need to be cleaned every once in a while
