Feeling the Heat
I didn't have much luck with room. I hung the wire above the hearth up about 4 feet and I'd leave it on all night but come down and find it off or cold. So I run in stove temp.
My wife keeps saying p61 because it's practical lol
The probe shouldn't be above the hearth as it will get too much heat and never kick on the heat enough to keep the place warm. I just coil mine up behind the stove and let it dangle about a 10" off the ground. Works great there and is pretty accurate with the air temp. You don't want the probe to touch any hard surface as it will only register the surface and not the air temp as intended.
