I'm glad you figured it out. A very dangerous situation that could have caused a house fire.

We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two. We can make a commercial out of this one :)

Surprising when it fired up it ran OK. Think because the fan was on high. Maybe some air in the firebox. What compounded the problem was me reacting to the un burned pellets by trying to slow the thing down. Made it worse. Guess that is why some pay to have their stove installed. Although some things can go wrong it still a pretty basic set up. I would install again myself.

YEah I will try that but think I will wait until spring. Reason is I would like to install a new OAK pipe from top of chimney. Push it down through the damper but leave it just a foot or so from top of chimney. I tried using a thin aluminum pipe and pushing up from bottom but its too hard to see how it terminates meaning does it get bent or the opening is against that chimney side.

Right now I switched my burn mode from room sensing to constant burn. Problem with room sensing is the stove turns on and off quite a bit. Probably only runs 30 minutes before it is a degree or 2 above set point and then idles down. On constant burn I have it on setting 2 and it is maintaining 74 in the room. Its not very cold out here today mid 30s right now. I probably will have to turn it down to 1.

Glad for all the help and problem solved.

Thanks!
