Do you guys work during the day?
The charts are all screwed up if you crunch the numbers.
The 2 sites have different btu #s due to different MC
but on pooks site he is crunching the lower #s
which are
spruce 19mil btu 1960 lbs =9694btu per pound
white oak 26.4 mil btu 2880 lbs =9167btu per pound
pon pine 19.3 mil btu 1960 lbs =9847btu per pound

I know it's not true values but rough estimates

Now when you crunch the high side #s (btu's and CF per cord) they seem abit more realistic
spruce 21.7 milbtu 2 2520 lbs=8611btu per lb
white oak 28mil btu at 3710 lbs= 7547btu per pound
pon pine 21.7mil @ 2570lbs8443btu per pound
doug fir 26.5 mil @3075lbs =8617 btu per pound

so fudge the #s however you want they are different for every site
the other site at a higher mc has oak being higher btu per pound so go figure
can't we all agree to disagree?
:cheese:

I'm as interested as the next guy about BTU output from pellets, but I'll "agree" that this thread needs to be closed....talk about beating something to death!

An explanation to why maybe I didn't see much difference between the pine pellets manufactured locally and the hardwood pellets that I'm burning now.

I want to get some Cubex and some Juanita's(both rated at 9000 BTU's) and Throw them head to head against the Okanagans 0(8800 BTU's)and Spruce points!(8700 BTU's)

Just to see!

I know that already, But there are others(yankees as BTU call's them) That just don't get it!

"I burn hardwood in my woodstove so I have to burn hardwood in my pellet stove." I aim to convert one of my friends. I will beat him with some numbers! (Or a damn stick if need be) :-P
