I am curious about what kind of insulation is used to segregate the refractory of the Greenwood/Seton/Abode/Green Horizon boilers.

Do they all use the same material?

How well does it stand up?

Adobe used 2" Roxul Rockboard 60 on the outer skin side with 1" Fiberax Durablanket over that on the fire/combustion side. The outer skin would definitely be warm to the touch, when really fired up you could probably cook an egg on the skin.

No problems withstanding heat, flame, fire but the way these are built I think the issue will be condensation within the boiler---rust/creosote causing the insulation to stick to the outer skin--trying to take apart the boiler for cleaning without tearing the insulation. The Roxul is pretty easy to work with and holds up well while the Durablanket is somewhat fragile as it is a ceramic fiber material. Roxul--- http://www.atsacoustics.com/item--Roxul-Rockboard-60-Case-of-6--RB60.html . Durablanket-- http://www.fiberfrax.com/#Fiberfrax-Durablanket .

Thanks! I thought I had seen some posts indicating those materials.
