The Chimney Sweep that we use (3rd time now) just came by today, to prep our system for winter.............
He said the amount of ash was minimal, light in color, and indicates that the "way we burned" last year was correct. (Nice to know.....even though we DID of course believe that anyway).
No structural compromises due to Hurricane Irene (which was a concern of mine) was found, and the area in the attic where the flue goes thru was not showing any issues either.
Nice to know we are doing it right (thanks in much part to many of you and your suggestions and knowledge expressed in here, over the years), and that we can go into this next burning season (which won't be long now in coming) with confidence in our system!!
