Holy cow. Yes...the invoice absolutely says 1 cord. I got ripped off!
Hi there!
First off, I'm sorry for posting this...I'm sure you get a lot of newbies like me asking this very question. BUT...I was struggling to find answers elsewhere.
I was wondering if it was a face cord! Invoice says that's it's a cord, but maybe it's assumed it's a face cord. I paid 180 in NJ.Around my neck of the woods , we deal in face cords. I have never hear of anybody who sells wood by the full cord around here. TG27 where are you located? If you paid more than $275, they would be dealing in a full cord , a face cord is generally about $80-$90.
Great idea. Here you go...Take a picture of the wood and we will tell you what it is.
Just out of curiosity, what is your approach for keeping people honest? It's hard to tell how much you've got when it's dumped in the driveway.I googled firewood in NJ and the average price for face cord is about $180, by my calculations you have 1.5 face cord . Seems ,you made out OK, use this as a learning lesson.
A true cord stacked tight measure 128 cubic feet..Just out of curiosity, what is your approach for keeping people honest? It's hard to tell how much you've got when it's dumped in the driveway.
Mathwise if a facecord = 1/3 cord then 246 x 3 = 600 + 120 + 18 = 738 pieces of firewood in a cord. You are shorting yourself!I once counted each piece when I threw it into my trailer. Here is what I came up with ,246 pieces per face cord= 654 per full cord . I think I had too much time on my hands that day

Alivegas99 has a great point a full cord is 4x4x8 feet , down here it's very common for Craigslist sellers to show up with a pickup truck bed of wood which is not even close to 1/2 cord if just thrown in a pile
