So a few weeks back I pulled the stove, cleaned the chiminey, cut out and replaced the baffle with a new plate of steel, added a flue collar, installed a damper, and installed a SS flex line up the masonary chimney.
Results:
Better draw, which was the main focus
I can open BOTH doors w/o putting smoke in the room
Fire is going nicely with doors closed, and fresh air vents open
All of that, and its 62 degrees outside, which is the coolest it's been. I can imagine what it'll be like when I actually need to run it.
All in all, I'm happy. And after today, the fresh paint on top will stop smelling up the place. I'm actually getting warm, might need to open a window.
