No. Before I learned of MassSave I had an independent guy with the infrared camera scan my walls, and then I had MassSave, and then I called in two insulation companies. None of them seemed concerned about the mold issue.

We did blown in insulation in our old dump in the 80's… after 30 years there was some settling but we still had quite a bit of insulation left.
Two years ago we did a living room remodel and tore out everything down to the studs. The blown insulation in the second floor wall was still hanging in there (balloon framing)… we furred out the walls and put in R-19 downstairs. Huge difference...

What is this I hear about not being to insulate an old house if it has the original wiring in it. Something about the wires being insulated with cloth covering.
Knob and Tube wiring can get hot/warmer then modern wiring it was sized knowing it would be in a open cavity.
So can you still put blown in cellulose insulation in walls where that type of wiring is or not?
I would not, call your local town inspector and see what they say about it. Its not against NEC code but local towns may say its not OK.
Knob and Tube wiring was installed with the assumption it has open air around it so adding insulation all around doesn't help it dissipate heat.
