Hello all - Have seen some initial discussions on the pricing of this unit but its a relatively new model and don't see much discussion yet on its performance. Would love to hear feedback on overall build quality, fan noise, heat output without the fan on (have been told by dealer that it's designed to move heat even without fan), effectiveness of the air wash at keeping glass clean, and any issues with the catalytic combustor (if it's not been an issue, would be interested in that too).

It's a serious heater. The fans are fairly quiet but necessary for decent heating. The flush nature limits the convection without fan assistance. This is true with all flush inserts. There are several past posts on this insert. Here are a couple:

Thank you! Have you (or others on this forum) formed any impressions of the durability of the cat? I understand this stove has a new design, but there are complaints from some that the cat in the prior design was prone to failure. Would be interested if folks have a view on whether the new design resolves the issue. Dealer says the cat should last 10 years - seems optimistic but would be happy to hear otherwise.

"Should last" and "would last" are different. The dealer can't predict how the stove will be run, the fuel quality, frequency of burning, etc. The cat should last about 12,000 hrs. if well cared for. For some that happens in 2.5 yrs. and for others it's 10.

OP:
Some vendors (that is, I know of one) give a 10 yr warranty on cats (basically meaning you'll get your second cat for free, allowing for a no cost learning curve with mistakes, as it's rare one burns so little that lasts that long).

Is that where your number comes from?

No, this is what the dealer told me when I expressed concerns about the longevity of the cat. I believe he said Lopi provides a 5yr warranty on the cat (but that it should last 10). As I read around I have seen a comment somewhere that the nexgen hybrid can operate without the cat (i.e. if the cat goes and isn’t replaced) and perform like the older cat versions. Anyone know if this is correct?
