Update, on the factory settings no difference with the glass turning black. If anything it is worse, after only 5.5 hours of burn time. I mean pitch black.3 lower buttons are set at 1/4/1. Any other setting causes the room air blower to cycle on and off every 9 minutes. 64 degrees in the house. Burning Pennwoods.

That's a lot of burning, in a short time - gotta clean 'em, by amount of fuel used, not time
Have you taken a leaf blower, to the vent?
The access panel, next to the control panel, covers the room air blower. Pop it of, and check that the fins aren't clogged on the impeller. I have recently been informed, (thanks Mike), that there is a thermal cutout in the motor, that may shut the motor down, if it, or the duct work around it gets clogged.
