No there cleaned out they tell me I have a air flow problem so I was thinking of bumping it up one to see what happens

I meant if you plug those two large holes on either side they will drastically increase and force more air up through the bottom of your burn plate. I agree with increasing your burn air. If you do a search on this site you will see that plugging the bottom two holes has done wonders for many pdv and pdvc owners. I have both stoves and with the holes closed it's night and day as far as burn and efficiency.

Would steel wool and stove pipe cement work on plugging those to bottom holes

Remember those bottom 3 buttons do not effect anything above heat setting 2 . Anything above 2 the control board takes over. Just an FYI

That what I was reading about but I run mine on 1 which is good for now till it gets real cold they say tonight in my area going down to 29deg the burn looks good tried to post vid but says it was to large I'll try again

Ok , wasn’t sure what you were running on. I have a PDV the big brother to yours . Did you always have this burn issue or is this something new?

It seemed to burn fine but my trouble was the igniter and england stove said sound like a air flow issue so I cleaned her good and thought about it if it's not getting a good air flow through the burn pot it won't ignite right so that's why I bumped up the air from a 4 to a 6 to try it out

If I were you I would block off the two holes under the burn plate at the very least. I actually took mine a step farther and inlarged a few of the holes in the center of the burn plate. If you at least plug the hole I guarantee you will be amazed by the difference in the flame. By the way where in pa do you live?

Thinking of steel wool and stove pipe cement
 
If you block off the holes, that will also. Draw more air around your igniter and fire up faster and burn alot better

Hillman plugs. 1/2 and 3/4 " inch.

Nope there the same pot. The top ones are connected to the bottom ones. We plug the bottom two holes because it’s cooler below the burn plate. Once you plug the bottom holes the top ones become inactive so they can stay open.
 
mine is down 3 weeks waiting on a prom from englander.
