Sounds like a nice score, better get that floor done or you'll have a nice SCAR!
The Amish shop over the mountain is holding me up now. Floor won't be ready til sometime next week, then it has to sit out in the room and acclimate for a week or so.......so I have two weeks that I can "do some chores" off and on.......::-)

Hopefully in two weeks I can grab some of the downed trees. The trails are starting to soften up which is making it tough going on the rhino.

Yeah, I was reading in your one post how you had to dig the Rhino out of a drift, I am amazed how much snow you have up there. We've had bare ground here in our valley for almost a month. Unreal for the month of February.....

Starting tomorrow through the rest of the week we will start losing snow. Cooking those burgers over pine coals on Sunday gave them a great taste, almost like they were in a smoker.

Yeah, I saw you didn't get any pics....

I've been hankerin' for a good burger on the pit. Me's thinkin' I may make some firepit hotwings this weekend if mum feels like helping me eat them. Maybe do four dozen fresh wings over some applewood and a sliver of fresh-cut cherry (if all goes to plan!::-))

Sounds darn right tasty....I have some hickory that would go good right along with that. Want me to UPS you some ? The wife and I were just looking the other night at your pictures of the keyhole firepit and I have been wanting to rebuild so just may be in order.

Was driving through a satellite shop at work today (I inspect, calibrate, and repair all of the welder machines at our facility, there are approx. 370 welder machines here), and stopped to make quick chat with a buddy of mine in the shop. We were talking about cooking on the firepit, cutting trees, heating with wood, etc. (yeah, go figure), when a nearby co-worker of his overheard us talking.

So my buddy goes back to work and the guy comes up to me and says "so you burn wood for heat and cut trees on the side, eh?" I said "yes, I do!" I he then says he has a wood row that separates his son-in-laws field from the neighbor's field that has a HUGE locust tree (around 24" to "30 at the base), and two 24" cherry trees he wants out of there. All three, straight drops.........

I told him if they take care of the mess, I'll get them down and take the wood!! He said its a deal!! The way he was talking, there's close to 3 cord of wood there.......

I'll be going out Saturday morning to have me a look!!
dang...they take care of the slash and you get the stash...great score!

The keyhole design is great for cooking and entertaining....we absolutely love that firepit!
