Double checking-attaching stove pipe directly to stove

Our wall tent just had a single wall pipe going through its fireproof "jack". I wouldn't do that now tho, even though it seemed perfectly fine then.

Did your pipe touch the great stove jack material?

I think so, but I'm not sure. We haven't had that tent set up in 20 years. We bought the tent and the stove and the stove pipe from the tent maker and just "ran with it".
