I installed a few sections of Duravent for a pellet stove 2 years ago, about 12 feet vertical with a couple 45 degree turns on the way up. Now i need to paint behind the stove, and would like to disassemble the sections. But my grip isn't strong enough to turn the unlock the connections! Have the connections fused somehow, Maybe the silicone or cotton sealer has fused the pipe sections? Is there a special tool for disassembling pellet stove pipe? Or best i just keep trying, possibly enroll someone with larger stronger hands? Thanks.

Try a couple of strap wrenches.
