I'm looking to put in a wood burning insert to reduce electric costs (2300sqft home in Southern Maryland, heat pump is very inefficient when temperatures drop below freezing). House has a standard fireplace 34" wide by 27" tall.
There are a lot of inserts out there, from what I've heard Quadrafire and Napoleon are the Cadillacs of wood burning world. Is the higher price justified ? Are there equivalent quality alternatives?
Thank you,
Boris.
