Couple of questions on Blaze King stoves

Work took me close to a semi local dealer today so I stopped in. After looking a couple different models I think I am now leaning towards the Princess. Showed the wife some pics and she likes it also. Any thoughs on the options available for it? Is the fan kit a necessity or can do without? Was hoping to avoid the noise this time around, can it be added later if needed. How about the convection top or the ash pan?

The fans are an easy add-on later. However, the fans can really move the air on high and are loud, but on low, very low as far as noise. The convection deck can be added later, but you'll have to raise the double wall off the stove and drop it over the flue collar...easy and manageable. Ash drawer on the Parlor model can also be added later.

The blowers are really a nice option! But, they are super easy to add later, the easiest I've ever installed.
The convection deck is a nice addition as well. If it were me, I'd get a princess ultra and see how it goes. Then add the deck and blower later on.

You may not NEED the fan but for the money spent, go all in.

I heated for many years without a fan on the stove but now that I've used one I concider it a must have, at least for my 1500sqft open floor plan home.

If nothing else, it can be used for cold nights while you sleep or for quick warm ups.

FWIW, your wood will need to be 16" to 18" for the Princess to burn N S. It's shallow (16")below the door but you can sneak a longer (19" to 20")piece" in at the glass. Be green has the right idea with the miter saw. Very handy to have so even if you have to buy one...and beats the hell out of lopping a few inches off of multiple pieces of split cord wood with a chain saw.

I doubt the convection top would mean much unless you just like the looks but I could be wrong. The stoves ashes doesn't need emptied often at all but some do find the ash pan handy.

I really like the princess. Of particular benefit is the deep belly of the princess and King. Really deep to hold a ton of ash. Get all of the options and the ultra model. They are pretty cheap.

The fans can be shut off or turned on to a speed that is quiet but effective. The huge majority of the time I leave the fans off. They are very effective when they are needed but don't hurt anything to be there waiting for the need.
