Hi all, I'm new to this forum and to pellet stoves so thank you in advance for dealing with my ignorance.

I am currently setting up a new Comfortbilt HP42. It seems like the HP42's exhaust port is too small to fit in a standard 3" appliance adapter. I will add some pictures to show what's going on.
The HP42 user manual says that the exhaust port is a 75mm port that will connect to 3" piping. So...what's going on here!?

I feel like I'm going nuts. My local stove shop gave me a Harman adapter which has the same issue, adapter is too big for the exhaust port.

It looks like the exhaust port should fit snuggly into the middle of the two layers of metal. Mine fits loosely inside the inner sleeve of metal and there is about a 1/16" gap.

Seems to be a standard 3" appliance adapter so is the HP42 exhaust port just an odd size?

Thanks for your help.

The adapter should slide over the stove exhaust output and
be sealed with high-heat silicon and secured with a clamp
or screws Not between the 2 metal layers of the smoke pipe
so the pipe from the stove goes inside the smoke pipe

Ok, so if I understand correctly, it should fit the way it does in the images I just need to use the high temp sealant and a hose clamp to tighten up the gap. Thanks again for the help

You got it
