Yeah, sorry bout that one, missed that he was waving with that right arm. Still kinda worried about his sac. Should email him and see if he still has it. Thought with the deadly unicorns that one should split parallel (ie cut ends) to the round rather than perpendicular. You were correct about the shaft. But even moreso, ya see the wobble on that thing. I probably would never use one of them anyway, but sure as hell would never use one that you hooked up to your drive axle. Lets face it, the only safe way to lift a vechile for an extended period of time, is the hydralic (sic) lifts at a garage. True, one could say that God fordid there pump jack slipped they could get out of the way in time, still would be concerned about a drive hub hitting the ground

Interesting thread. I'm kinda late, but I didn't see anyone mention that he has this thing connected to an electric motor (gobs of torque). At least the one in this video is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlpcnCsDBeo&mode=related&search=

I've worked around some pretty dangerous industrial equipment. An old 1800 lb. drop forge. And I mean old. Various other steel mill equipment, big printing presses and various other printing stuff that I saw damage or remove fingers, thumbs, and even entire arms. This thing is about as dangerous as any of them. I cringe thinking of all the clothing that is perpetually so close to that screw in the video. One little scrap of something to grab and zziiippppp, off it comes, gloves, sleeve, jeans, maybe with, maybe without the operator's fingers, hand, or uh, er, valuable manly equipment.

I think it would be safer (if I can even use that word) to run that thing with the entire crew completely naked, so there is no clothing, gloves, etc. to grab onto. That would make for quite a show and bring home the point of how close valuable manly equipment is to that twirling dervish, or tasmanian devil, just waiting for a stray bit of something or other to grab onto and jerk off. :zip: I'd even trim up my pubic hair before running that sticky fingered, grab-ass, monster! :smirk:
