I was wondering if it is common to change the heat settings on a stove while it is running or do you shut it down? I will soon be getting my Quad Castile and contacted Quadra-Fire with this question. Their response was as follows:
"After the start up cycle has taken place, the unit can be switched to a
different speed while operating, and the changes will take affect almost
immediately. However, we do not recommend this action as it may cause
"confusion" for the control box, and the stove may shut down. The unit
depends on specific voltages regulated by the control board to operate. If
the voltages change at the wrong time, the stove may shut down."
Any of you Quad owners care to respond whether or not you change heat settings on the fly?
The Castile simply has 3 settings low - Med and High. which control the feed rate, combustion and convection air programs.
