Right rear distance from unit to the wall is nine inches.
Vent pipe is eight inches from wall.

EDIT: I just looked at the Quadrafire website, and the picture they have of the Mt. Vernon shows it sitting on something that I'm SURE is not 2" thick.....but that can't be...Quadrafire must be wrong...NHenergy is a dealer and their always right.
I think the angry drunk has a hard time understanding words put together, especially when in a installation manual because sentences, tables, and pictures are used (maybe too much information?). On a related topic, here is an important characteristic of ceramic tile:macman said:

Inspector is coming tomorrow.
I already obtained a building permit from him and talked to him at length, showed him pictures of my house, install specs., etc.
I think I was probably tougher on myself with the install than he is going to be.
Anyway, fingers crossed.

I just figured out what the angry drunk is confused about: he doesn't understand the meaning of the word "beneath" in the context it is used. If you read the installation instructions and consider how that word could be interpreted, you'll get a laugh.

Uh OH, Mike Holten from Englander isn't going to be happy when he finds this out! It can't be that NHenergy is wrong about that, right? I mean, he's a dealer, and we all know that dealers know everything, and they NEVER make a mistake.
And calling Englander stoves a "POS".....that's not nice.....seems to me that there are a LOT of posts on this forum for repairs to Harman & Quadrafire stoves.....oh, wait a minute again...that can't be possible!! NHenergy sells those stoves.....nope, I must be mistaken, because I'm not a dealer, therefore, i am not perfect.
