Indeed, I see many, many bugs flying in front of my stacks. Like the "insect hotels" folks *sell* (...) these days. Those insects lay eggs, and that leads to larvae. And yes, they do lay eggs in 3 year old 13-17% dry wood...
Mold and mildew need water to exist btw. My wood does not have visible mold or mildew even after 3 years of drying outside (in an open shed with sufficient overhang of the roof so with zero rain hitting it). Stays nice and yellow. Not gray or dark.
