Good evening!

Dad had bought a breckwell SP-1000 pellet stove new In 2021. He used it until his passing in January 2024.

Mom and I are trying to use up his pellets (around 2 ton left). Things were going well this fall and I was keeping up with opening bags and cleaning it twice a week. About 3 weeks ago the hair pin between the auger/motor broke. I replaced it with the same sized pin dad had close at hand. It broke again about a week later and again it broke. This time the auger bent and the pin actually ripped a hole most of the way around the auger.
I’m trying to determine a part number for the auger, dad had a full set of manuals and they don’t list the auger. On-line I’m only able to find p-1000 or other close models but not SP-1000.

As for swapping them out, this one appears to be calked in and will require new calk after installation. Possibly not even replicable? Again I can’t find much about the SP-1000.

Anyone been down this road?

either way mom and I agree after these two tons are gone, no more!
Are we better off just selling what we have stove/pellets and all!?!

If your stove is a Big-E it will be a p1000, but to be sure you get the correct part give them a call and they will walk you through the process.
Pellet stove parts 4 less

As for the calk, it is a high temp silicone sealer that fills cracks and leaks. It is removed pretty easy.

This is not your stove ? You will need to post a picture so we can identify it

That’s the same stove by picture, and this is the first reference I’ve seen to this being a SP-1000….

So I guess cut the caulk all free and I should be able to replace the auger?
I’ll get back to mms in the next couple days and see what I can do…
Thanks guys

Sure there is more than likely a fastener or more holding it all in. That picture is from breckwell’s broshure on their website.

Those 2 black screws someone has added i think, i do not remember seeing those in mine when when i replaced the auger im sure i accessed everything from below. What ever you used for a hair pin was definitely wrong, it should not have been able to slice that auger shaft like that. I just go to the local hardware store and buy a bag of them and have only went through 2 of them in 5 years and that was due to some bad pellets that would pack in like concrete. It should have blown a fuse before it did that damage.

That unit definitely looks like a Big e same as mine and it has been a rock solid stove other than one of the blowers seizing up and killing the control board. once a week maintenance and it runs like a charm.

The unit has only been maintained by dad(he had the dealer do all work) and me. I have not added anything so those two screws are “factory”.

As for the pellets packing that’s the key, each time it went the auger housing was packed solid. Your post has me wanting to sell the pellets on market place and then the stove too!

I’ve yet to dig deeper at moms.

Try some diff pellets you may change your mind. 😎

You’re missing the fact that the stove is in mom’s basement. She has a bad back and can’t load the stove herself. Im across town and go over 2-3 times a week clean the stove and add pellets. Often times it’s off. A stove at moms
Does not work in my lifestyle!
Don’t get me wrong, I help out at moms a lot and I’m over there at least once a week anyway, just one more Chore at moms.

Then stop using the old pellets and make somebody a combo deal. Get rid of it and pellets, cut your loss and be done.

I would ask 1800 for everything

Well then the dealer must have put them in same with the req silicone that is not factory as well..

Like Ssyko said above sell it all as a package deal and be done with it..

If you don't have the time to see your mom every day to check
the stove and top up the pellets. Then it is time to move the stove
down the road. Like Ssyko said ask 1800
