Ok for you guys out there that have one of these stoves, last night I went home to restoke the fires and once I get her a rippen I went to damper her down with the bottow pull..well, I almsot pulled the entire assembly right out! At one point I could only pull it out so far until it stopped, now I can pull it clean out..Any thoughts??

On the Oylmpic there is a small screw that acts as a stop for the air slider. If this small screw on the top above the slider handel has fallen out the entire air slide can pull out. Check if screw is missing. This is the only way I know (without looking at it in person) that this would happen.

HUH..i NOTICED A HOLE on the bottom of the slider that must have had a screw in it at one time now it is gone. I do not know about on top above the slider handle..Will check when I get home..I cant imagine how it could have come loose??

Heat, pressure and time :-) Sounds like a PEM stud would solve the issue.
