Hi! New here. All the help aporeciated in advance.

So, i have Whitfield Quest, which was running quite smoothly.
Suddenly, there's some error.
On START, fans turn on, but when i push auger button, it just blinks constantly, no feed.

Checked: convection & combustion fans seems to work, i can hear them.
Pressure hose is not clogged. Btw, hose attached/unattached - no difference.
(Wiring is intact, throuh there are some modifications from default - but they have been there).

So, Control board? Auger motor?

Thanks

try a good clean iside the stove including pulling the fans and clean them and their chamber, then clean the vent pipe to the rain cap. then we can troubleshoot :)

did you clean the hole that the silicone tube goes into the firebox?

Have you tested the auger motor?
Is the mechanical connection between the auger motor and the auger intact?

I've all the wires, everything seems intact, no damages, no lose wires.
As for the cleaning, i think i did it quite well, but maybe i'll repeat in some zones

If you have the back of the stove off you should be able to move the auger motor back and forth. The auger motor should be pointed downward. If the auger motor is at an angle more than likely the auger is jammed. You can try and get the auger motor to swing between the two stops.

If you have to remove the auger empty out all the pellets first. Next unplug the stove from the outlet. Then loosen the set screw and remove the auger motor. There are four screws that hold the auger in place carefully remove those screws and the auger should drop out.

If the auger is jammed you may have to work at it. Be prepared for a mess. As soon as the auger is removed all the pellets in the auger tube will drop onto the floor. If you left any pellets in the bin those pellets will fall out as well.

Once the auger is out and cleaned up I put two or three drops of light oil on the top of the auger and reinstall. Finish attaching the auger motor. Note the shaft has a flat spot the auger motor set screw tightens against.

Once that is done try turning on the stove without any pellets. You should be able to hear and see the auger motor turn the auger.

Let us know how you make out.

Sorry for the long winder reply!

I should add the Quest stove is a very simple stove and easy to troubleshoot. I have owned one for almost thirty years. I have replaced very few parts. The quest stove produces good heat and is very reliable.

As someone mentioned, make sure the barb the vacuum hose is attached to is clear. Did you bypass the vacuum switch to see if that is the issue? If so, its probably clogged somewhere in the stove for airflow, the vac switch is a safety switch to keep auger turned off if exhaust is clogged. As Ricks said too, could be a jammed auger. You could put power directly to auger motor as well. Hope its not the control board, yikes they are hard to find, expensive to buy. Good luck with her.
