Anyone know what this plate is for or if it should be here? The image below is behind the combuster looking to the front of the stove, just above the bypass door. I replaced the combuster this year and saw this plate hanging there. A friend who has the same stove didn't think his had one. TIA.

Yes, I believe that is supposed to be there. See page 19 on your manual, right hand side figure.
I suspect it helps the cat probe measure the temperature better. (And may be also useful in increasing the residence time of the gases in the cat, leading to better combustion).
