Hi folks. I've got a Appalachian Model 30 CD (model info) that's been reliable for years. Used with a maintained liner, capped chimney, and dry wood. The insert itself is in good shape, the liner is in good shape... recently had an issue with a slight smell after the second burn of the season. After pulling the insert out, the collar between the stove and liner had deteriorated.

The pictures below are after vacuuming out and removing the remnants of what was left under the stainless clamp.

Silver Valley Parts has a couple transition boots that could work but they're a bit big for the space and look like more than is needed.

Any advice to get this going as the colder weather starts setting in? Would love to get some more years out of this insert, and at least through the cold season.

It looks like the liner is coming in at an angle, but that might just be the photo. If an angled boot would help, try Rockford Chimney. They have angled and straight start elbows.

Yeah I had contacted them using their Contact Us page on their site and haven't heard back. I didn't see the email address the first time around, thanks for pointing that out @begreen. I tried contacting them again. The phone number looks like a general office line, tried it but can't get anyone on that.

The liner does come in straight. The angle is there because I've got the insert out quite a ways.

This connector from Rockford Chimney looks like it could work:

I'm happy to try and do the repair myself but I've never worked with stoves.

Could it be as simple as getting that connector, cinching the clamp over the liner end, and using their Mill-Pac High Temp Appliance Sealer on the end going into the insert?
