Anyone hauled pellets in a mini van, how many bags?

My friend is asking me this question.
He wants to know his options.....lol

He told me his van is rated for a 1,187 pounds cargo or 3,500 towing.

I own a 98 Grand Voyager and with both back seats out I carried 34 bags which would equal 1360 pounds. I definitely took it easy going home. The old van creaked an awfull lot.

Its easy if you'd do the math. 1200 divided by 40= 30. 30 bags would be the max load of the van. If you going a long distance I would reduce the load!

I hauled 28 bags in a Dodge Neon, or 1120 lbs, would not do that again, 20 bags yes.

The vehicles load rating is the vehicles load rating. Plain and simple. Just don't cross the line or get stopped in a spot check!

A whole ton in a mini van?? WOW-that musta been a sight.

I have a small SUV and the most I have put in it at a time was 25 bags, but
thought that was really pushing it because the truck handled horrible.
Luckily, I only had to go about 4 miles on a backroad so just took it slow and easy.
No more than 20 bags at a time seems to work best for me.

Remember, passenger weight counts in the payload limit so be sure to kick em out and go
alone to get pellets, you can get in about 3-4 more bags that way. ;-)

I think the best way would be to use a hitch and haul a small trailer, that option allows for up to 3k pounds, so a ton and a half more less.

I also have a 6 x 12 lanscape trailer that I tow with this van that I've put a ton on.

Last year, I decided I could be risking an expensive transmission job towing that much so I had them delivered.

I think 1000 lbs is a good amount in most minivans without more than driver in there.
You can definitely tow more.

I have placed 1000 lbs boilers in the back of my dodge caravan 4 banger. But it was only me driving and seats were removed.

Every now and then I see that U-haul will have the $19.95 special. There is a mileage limit but I think its 250. Why wreck your stuff when you can wreck there's. We used to rent them before we bought our F150. If I need to do a long haul of more than a ton I will do it again.

The box truck I used 2 rent would easily hole 2 tons. But they have larger ones available. Cost more to haul more.

I carry 1/2 ton in my MPV as well...20 in the hatchback...5 on the back seats.
The towing capacity for the van equipped wit the tow package is 3500 lbs
8 bags was the max for the Escort Wagon i once owned.

I own a Mazda CX-7 crossover and make three trips 16-17 bags at clip when I buy a tone. I am only 4 miles from the dealer so I'm not driving a great distance.

Friends 03' Tundra and another friends 07' F150 sag down pretty bad
with a ton in the back. My sisters beefy 99' Ram 2500 barely blinks...
Eight bags is about the most I can fit into my Jeep wrangler with
the back seat removed. Thought I'd chuck my 2c in since everyone else has. ;-P

wish I could do that, but the place you bought the pellets from is 45 miles for me.....that would be 6 trips..!
