It was 37 degrees outside this morning but 65 degrees inside.

I don't really find 65 degrees all that cold, what's the temperature inside your houses when you start your first fire?

This time last year our house would have been in the high 50's with temps that low but I've done a lot of insulating and obviously it's working...

Got up this morning it was 48 outside, 65 inside. Started up the stove to take the edge off. It was kinda like meeting an old friend.

cellar stove on Saturday night after it was serviced, it may be on for a little while tonight.

It was 39 outside this morning, 68 inside and upstairs. Time to close the windows at night, otherwise my wife will be loudly suggesting that I fire up the stove... or threaten to turn on the oil beast

I don't think I'll be able to hold out firing up the stove until November this year... While I can't wait to fire it up again, I like not spending and $$ on heating or cooling the house at this point.

living in a 1967 mobile home with poor insulation thats being upgraded as its affordable, yes, i have been burning at nite and early morning...stove off and windows open during the day

I would have tried to hold out longer than I did - burning a couple mornings since last week - but with parakeets in the house, I have to keep the temp up at least 65 or they sit all fluffed and huddled and very quiet.

Been running the XXV for about 30 minutes every morning for about a week now here in northern NJ. Takes the house from around 65 to 70 in that time.

Not that I could't have made it to my goal of Oct 1st, but seeing it was 58 degrees in one end of the house, I thought it in my best interest to turn the stoves on for an hour. I think most of you guys will understand.

If it avoids any possibility of having the skillet procedure performed (or bodily fluids drained for sale) I'm all for turning the stove on.

Not yet, getting close. Unplugged the vent and re-attached the OAK last night. The three women of the house are giving me the leary eye.
The men aren't cold but getting scared.

Cleaned and vacuumed stove, ran brush up the flu pipes and test fired it.
Not starting it for heat yet, we'll see how the weather holds out.
I will be picking up a used leaf blower for the vacuum vent trick on Monday or Tuesday.
