Another newbie - stymied by ash in the house

  • Active since 1995, Hearth.com is THE place on the internet for free information and advice about wood stoves, pellet stoves and other energy saving equipment.

We strive to provide opinions, articles, discussions and history related to Hearth Products and in a more general sense, energy issues.

We promote the EFFICIENT, RESPONSIBLE, CLEAN and SAFE use of all fuels, whether renewable or fossil.
Stove is too close to the wall, fire waiting to happen. Whatever that is behind there wont do a darn thing other than to hide the danger.

eYeah, the ash sitting on the lip of the stove . Any air movement will stir that up and disperse into the room. Get yourself an ash vacuum and tidy that up.
One more thing...you will have to clean up all the ash on all the surfaces. Otherwise it will just get kicked up and dispersed and settle again. (It looks like a shoe print in ash on the floor in front of the stove so I think just walking around will kick up ash until you get it thoroughly cleaned) .
