It's June 1st. Stove is off until October at the earliest. Put on a coat if you're cold.
Well here on Cape Cod I opted not to run the stove overnight. My reward, the oil heat came on set at 66. when it shut down it then came back on for our tenant. And actually, that was 4;30 am, it's knocking on getting ready to come on a gain right now, hoping the sun does it's thing before that happens. June 1st is cooler than the last few I recall. I don't want it much cooler in teh house though cause I did some staining and I want it to cure.

I keep my oil heat set at 50.

We have had a couple of fires in the Little whit over the past week or so.

We will likely see a few more between now and mid month.

Strange though, one day it's the AC running all day, and then a fire the next.

I have no idea how old you are but let me just say that for me there came a day that I was not willing to freeze my butt off for the sake of $3.

Not freezing. The pellet stove kept the house at a comfortable 70 degrees. If the pellet stove failed for whatever reason, we'd turn the oil thermostat up.

looks like we are done. lows in the 50's all week.
if it gets even a little chilly now, i will just shut my door. the tv,pc and audio amp and/or xbox heat things up just fine.

im still burning too. crazy weather here in N.Y. we run AC during the day then need to light the stove at night. When we do light it now it goes on around midnight and only 1 or 2 (very low) and we turn it off first thing in the morning. It will be off all night tonight as its very warm tonight, but i'll still need it for maybe 2-3 weeks intermittently. then it gets its final cleaning, and ready for next fall where we light that sucker october 1st and dont turn it off until at least may.
