A quick, broad question about all night heat.
Context, me and my wife are living in a small off grid (solar and gas generator) cabin with a full size loft (600 sqft up and downstairs combined, R 18 Walls, no freezing pipes to worry about) While we fix our house.
our wood stove is a Jotul F-100, simply because it was free and available to install right when we moved in.
This stove heats the cabin great when it's running, but is obviously a very small fire box, and so far I've gotten a max burn time of 5 hours.
What are some ways you have made it through the night warm?
backup gas heaters, or other methods? we're off grid, so Eletric is essentially off the table unless it is very low wattage (only to run a thermometer or something). direction to other forums or relevant information would be very helpful, and no, upgrading the woodstove is not in the budget for this cabin, a Jotul F55 or equivalent will be installed in our house once it's remodeled and ready to live in so looking for a temporary solution this winter.
Thanks!
