New to wood stoves, and this stove. We seem to be eating through wood (allegedly seasoned oak), but maybe it's the reality? It's heating a 2300sq foot home with 8' ceilings and lots of fans. If just seems to keep the stove warm enough to be in the good zone, we're feeding it 3-4 pieces every few hours during the day. We load it up at night and still have have coals in the morning. We're just trying to mostly keep it on the 400-600 range on the stove. It's plenty warm, I'm just wondering how much wood this will cost us our first season. 😅
We're in Tennessee mountains, so not super cold but unusually cold this week. Usually humid. Any/all thoughts suggestions appreciated!

A lot of people are going through an extra amount of wood. This is an unusual winter. There have been 10 polar vortexes hitting the middle and east of the country this year. Normally, there are only 1-2. Some seasons you might go through 1-2 cords, but all bets are off this season.

It takes a while to really learn a stove too. The first year you’re generally trying all sorts of things to figure out the best way to run it. Next year you’ll figure out how to run it best.
