Warmed up to 30°f here. Getting long burns again.
Some pictures of the coals after a 24 hr burn & a new load of birch. Some bark up front at the bottom, stuck down in the coals to get the fire going.
Pics didn't load in order?
Bot middle: Picture of what's left after 24 hours & I raked the coals around. Stove was still putting out heat. (house 74°)
Bot left: Pic of the new load of birch, some birch bark up front one end down in the hot coals to get fire going
Top R.: Pic of fire catching & getting flue & stove hot. Door closed
Top L. : Pic of wood burning good, door open
Top Mid; pic of door closed & bypass closed & getting hot. Stat on High
Bot R. : pic of stat down, (1.75 on my stove) cat glowing bright orange, fan on low, set for the night.
Good for another 24 hrs at these temps. 30°f outside, house temp now 74°, 2500 sq ft house. Stove in basement.
Smart thermostat set to turn the forced air blower on every 30 minutes for 5 minutes too move air around the house.
