Remember your 1st pallet?
The nervous energy and the Buyers questioning and maybe remorse after..?
Is your mind out of the ash pot yet..?
Ok.. For $194 I sprung for the 1st pallet..I'll even mention the brand and Place..and why.
It was Lumber Jack premium from Lamberts in North Branch..Mn.
I am in no way affiliated with any of the principles..but I need to mention a few things
to those who make these things.
Do you wonder why your sales are Flat in some areas?
In my small town the local mill/feed store counter dude replies when asked " do you carry wood pellets and which brand?.."
with "ya we carry them..they are in the back..I DONT KNOW the brand or pricing"
They were Indeck at $ 5.50 per bag with no mention of pallet discounting..
I moved on..the pallet was open ..with many bags torn..damaged product.
I went 30 miles to the south to North Branch..to a well established mill/building center.
The lady at the desk was pleasant and sent me to the back..
Eagle Brand premium pine pellets for $6.50 a bag..with the pallet open and product barley touched../gee wonder why?
I couldn't get a straight answer if a pallet discount would happen..they needed to check with THE BOSS and they weren't there..
Thankyou..Bye..
" wait..They are a premium pellet"
" Cool..but no thankyou.."
Now move a few Farve to Moss touch down passes away to to the local lamperts store..Pellets on sale flashes the sign with $3.89 per bag pricing..Per bag and pallet pricing..
So indifferent sales and poor pricing v. actual advertising and competitive pricing.
Better yet..since I was there a couple of days earlier for a scouting mission they had received more.. There were several pallets carefully stored with born on dates and GREAT plastic coverings ..all stored inside..No rips/tears and the yard guy said they were really moving them.
They never keep them outside or accept bad pallets.
Again I am in no way related to the management or any body with this process.
But they got my business.
My initial testing Indecks V lumber Jacks went like this..
The Lumber Jacks were a longer pellet and burned slower..with probably less heat than indecks..and a little dirtier..but not by much that was measured by room thermostat and glass on Stove window. Both burn less hot than corn..cleaner and both way longer.
What sold me was the dealership and the way the product was presented and pricing..I can live with a few degrees less heat for - $20 dollars per pallet difference..Mix with corn for the NON grapefruit season here in Mn.
My Indeck sales places had no idea what the pallet price was or if it was even available.
Lumber jack was really pushing theirs ..and it made the difference.
As for Eagle and their premium pellets..I wonder if the guy who makes em knows how crappy the sales department was..
I wonder how many Virgins felt this way before and or after.
Education is the key..
