I have a 2001 Englander 25 PDVC and I just can't get it hot. I have thoroughly cleaned it, did the leave blower also, 2 new blowers, new door gasket and new glass and gasket. I run it on 4 and 6 but I am not sure what the lower 3 settings should, I think I have them at 4-6-1. I know people say that the lower 3 settings only affect when you burn on 1 or 2 but is that also true for a 2001 model stove. I also have a 2008 model PDVC and it kicks out the heat at setting 1 and 6 with the lower settings at 4-4-1. The stoves are identical, at least I think, so why is the heat output so different. What should the 2001 PDVC settings be? Are the settings different for a 2001 model and a 2008 model???

I have a 2010 Englander 25-PVDC that came from the factory with a D code setting. With help from this forum, I changed to a C code setting and the heat output jumped considerably. Of course so did my pellet usage as well. I have a 1600 ft2 metal building with 12 ft eaves and minimal insulation.
Wide open on the D code programming did not get it done. The C code programming on level 5 of 9 made all the difference and I am happy!
The newer model in my signature was set at the D programming probably to raise the efficiency rating.
The older 2006 model used the C code programming and I bought on Craigslist to flip It helped me get my 2010 model up to heat. Maybe your heat range is set on D as well.

Feeling the Heat
I have the same stove & the bottom 3 factory settings are the same that you have, 4,6,1. I am trying 4,7,1 tonight to see what that does. Just in case you didn't know, you must set these numbers when the stove is cold or had shut off. Changing these numbers while it is hot, will not take effect till the next time it cools & shuts off & you turn it back on. One other thing I have noticed with mine is, you should run the room air blower the same as your heat setting number. I have noticed that if I get it higher then the heat setting number, it feels colder in the house.
It has to do with the effects of the low fuel and low air rates on the first two heat ranges, the burn program selected (the controller has more than one), the particular software modification level of the controller you have, and the actual hardware setup.
In short the stoves are not identical at all, even if they had identical controllers there are differences in the fabrication of each individual stove. Couple that with different vent configurations ....

Feeling the Heat
I have my stove in the living room of a 14 x 70 mobile home. The living room is at the one end & our bedroom is at the clear other end. Last night it got down in the 20's around here. I was running the stove on the lowest heat setting of 1 & the room blower on 1. When I got up this moring, it was 68 degrees in our bedroom & 82 degrees in our living room. I normally don't have to go above heat setting 3 & room blower 3 & that is on a night when it is down in single digits. The brand of pellets you burn also makes a big difference. I use either Hamer's Hot Ones or Somerset. They are both a hot pellet & seem to burn good in my stove. I know of other hot pellets like Okies, but never had the chance or could not find them in my area.

To get the most help for that stove, I highly recommend giving Englander tech service a call on Monday....try asking for Mike Holton.....he will help you get back burning right.
EDIT: Just saw Smoke Show's post above....I'm deleting my 4-6-1 statement. He spoke to Mike H., and that is the final word.

Lowering your LBA to 1 will help keep the hot exhaust air inside the stove longer, so that should get more heat out of it into the room.

I haven't ran mine on 1 or 2 yet cause its a basement install, but after hours of dredging thru old posts here(when I first got the stove) I don't recall any reference to
a 4-1-1 setting. Kinda wondering if Mike mistyped or if there ain't that many old stoves around anymore? Maybe next time I'm down there I'll do a factory reset as described here:

I just tried the factory reset and tried checking which heat mode c or d couldn't get either procedure to work.
