Starting my second fire of the year tonight. Fire's been out for a couple days and the house has been holding 70, but it's going to be in the 30s tonight.

It's been nice not loading the stove, but it sucks to sit down in my chair by the stove in the morning and find that it is no warmer than the rest of the house...

I just fired off the PE about 1/2 an hour ago. Then, the wind picked up.

Draft is NOT an issue ;)

Had a 16hr day yesterday, accidently left the windows open when I left the house in the morning, came home to 54deg inside, outside was 42, at midnight my dedication pulled through, I lit the stove up, closed the windows, took a shower and by the time i was finished the stove was cruising, I slowed the air some and went to bed for a few hours.

I feel for you kennyp2339 I hope you were able to get warm. 16 hours days make for short nights.

Lows the next three nights are 44, 40 and 43. Fires in the Keystone and SIL's PE will be partaken of. :)

It was almost 80 today but they are calling for a cold front to move in with some rain so I'm sure I'll be right there with a fire this coming weekend.

Think I may be done for the season. 73 here in central MA. House gets enough sun that I may not have another fire.

Have wood for just about all next winter split and stacked. Called tree guy, and he's going to come for me to show him a couple of trees by the house to take down when he is free in June. He'll cut it to 14 - 16" and I'll split it with a maul.

Ordered SootEater with the white, flexible rods yesterday.

Last hurrah. It's windy, rainy and 42 degrees here at noon. _g

I fired off the PE last night, woke up to stove room @ 86F.

Unless we get a temp drop, I'm done. I always have firewood in the house, so won't be a problem ;)

I have to come up with a heating system as supplement for shoulder seasons.
I want to look into it with plenty of time to make a good decision. Here regardless outside temperatures, if the house feel cool I burn. I go by inside temperatures regardless the outside temperatures.
At least my chimneys draft real good and I am able to burn if needed.

Mini split heat pumps are ideal. Plus they can do a/c in the summer and most of your heating load in the winter. Or maybe even all of it.

We're still burning at least 1 fire a day, sometimes 2 depending how cold it's forecast to get overnight. Me and the dogs love it! :-)

I'm still burning off and on, which is not typical for me (usually I just burn straight through until it's 70 out), but we keep having 65 degree days and 55 degree nights.... so after a few days of no fire, I do a small overnight fire with a couple splits to bump up the house a few degrees.

Fired off the PE again.

I'm not going to have many uglies left.

I've been burning three splits every few days just to keep the temp up and humidity down; it gets a chill when the humidity increases. But, its 77 out now, so we may be getting to the end. I am going to replace the Mansfield with a PE-T6 this summer. So, there's a Mansfield in CT for sale.

Going to be in the 50's tonight I'm going to have a basement fire to take the chill out of the house.

There's a few mid- to high-40s nights coming, so maybe I'll get a couple more burns in the new T5 after all. ==c

I'm with you Woody Stover the lows have been in the high forties and low fifties at night. With rain off and on I don't think I'm done yet.

Still burning. Dang it. Full load this morning should carry me for the day but tomorrow will see a couple of full loads. 25F for the low with some snow. Are you kidding me???

That's nuts.

I will be lighting the stove back up and keeping a low fire all weekend, tomorrows high is 51 with wind, Saturday night upper 30's and maybe a little moderation on Sunday.

Just fired off the PE.

Raining like a sum of a witch, and damp, and 40F.
