Alternate Heating Systems' Carl Forney

I called the other day and left a message on Carl's voice mail. But instead of Carl, Charlie Detrich called me back. Unfortunately, he said Carl is no longer with Alternate Heating Systems. I was very sorry to hear that Carl isn't with them anymore. He was very friendly, helpful and informative. Not to mention patient. He always seemed to go the extra mile for the customer. He always explained everything completely.Charlie didn't seem as helpful as Carl but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. He does seem like he is going to try and take care of my issues. I see from their website that Charlie is actually the VP Operations and he joined the company October 12, 2009. So maybe he is just filling in till they find someone to replace Carl. So hopefully their support will remain as good as it's been. Anyway I just wanted to let everybody know what's up with Carl. And wondered if anyone else had dealt with Charlie yet.

I posted about this the other week. Charlie doesn't know 1/100th of what Carl knew. Carl was the best tech person that they will ever have. This company keeps going into the trashcan since the new owner took over last spring.

The guy who hung here sometimes (Pat) is no longer there either......
Things are tough in the wood market and economy as a whole....who knows? Everyone is tight these days.

Carl was great. I left a message for him on his phone but he has not returned the call, he gave me both his home and cell # when I was having a minor issue. Took a call from me on his day off to help out...not everyone will do that. He stated under the old owners he probably would have made a trip (2.5 hrs)out to see my boiler but the new folks want it done without house visits. Hope he does well in whatever new venture he is on.
