When I have additional rounds that won't fit into the woodshed, I have tons of small rocks that are on the ground around the outside of my woodshed. They keep the bottom pieces off of the ground.

When I drop a tree in the woods. I usually buck it up into logs and then roll the logs onto slash/branches to dry for a few weeks before I haul it to my woodshed. Again it keeps wood off of the ground and dry.
