My sister has a one year old Hearthstone stove. I don't know the model, but it is a large (compared to my Lopi Endeavor) soapstone/cast iron stove. She was cleaning it where the flue exits out the back and found about a 15" piece of what I thought was some sort of seam sealant. It had a hard mortar like concistency,it looked like it had come out of a caulk gun and had the outline of one of the seams on it. I told her to call her dealer and ask them. They stated it was something they put inside the stove for shipping purposes and that it was normal find that. They said she would probably find more as time goes by.
Does that sound right????
Thank You
