Saw this in the local craigslist. Looks like something that came over on the Mayflower!

Not only ugly...FUGLY!!

I think that is a DoveTec
(broken link removed to http://www.computerasylum.com/Dovetec/dovetec.htm)
I see them posted for sale (CL) from time to time. This guy is probably asking about Double market value on this stove.

I was googling DoveTec and ran across the Golden Grain Stove company. I had never heard of them, but they claim to manufacture Sierra, Lopi, and DoveTec stoves.

Check their products from their menu bar. These are some strange looking stoves.

Well, I think it's kinda cool looking

Hey guys, except for hossthehermit, don't be so harsh . . . . :-)

Like the add says, it is a "Nice Pellet stove in used condition" and the owner is ONLY asking $875.00 with the option of getting a real deal on some used and new stove pipe.

What could be better . . . . no waiting for a stove . . . . no hassels with over sold dealers . . . . .no standing in line at the big box stores . . . . . instant gratification!!

You guys say it may be a corn stove?? . . . . picky, picky, picky . . . . .

I would agree from the photo that the stove DOES appear to be in "used condition".

Wonder why the owner switched heating sources . . . . .Hmmmmmmm . . . . .

I think you could do a lot better for $800.00 bucks! I have seen Whitfields and other models on Craigslist for under $500.00 that looked in better shape.

Absolutely. This one has been on CL for months.
They should have priced it at 500 back in September and then they may have made a sale. 875 for that stove in this market is just plain silly.
My guess is that the stove is at least 10 years old.

Regarding my post:

That was my Maine "dry humor" being, I am afraid, misunderstood.

If I saw that stove at the town transfer station ( formerly the town dump) , I would NOT be tempted to violate the "No Dump Picking" rule.

The asking price of $875.00, to me, is just another example of someone trying to cash in on the pellet stove shortage situation.

As "mkmh" said, they should have posted in September and asked a reasonable price. My feeling is that the asking price should have been more like, say, $15.00 or so . . . . ( More twisted, dry, Maine humor . . . or lack thereof . . . . .)

That's a very rare "Edsel" pellet stove...

I cant believe nobody recognizes it yet. There are definitely a lot of techs and stove buffs on this forum and somebody should recognize that stove. I don't like the stove but I have never seen anything like it and am curious.

I think mkmh identified it as a Dovetec

He got it. I got pictures of the Dovetec on the net and it is a definite match. The stove reminds me of an old radio. Its the kind you kick when it doesn't work to get it going again. I bet if he buys that stove he will be at radio shack looking for tubes.
