I here ya there. Though here it wasn't quite that late but it was later than I like and The Only pellets available were Energex Soft..6 bags short of 2 1/2 tons burned since sept. 22nd.
i'm hoping to burn less than the 5 1/2 i burned last year. (which was a ton more than the year before that)
i'm not as concerned about these cold days as i am about needing to still be burning some in june again like last year.
You don't have to. I have a friend who's last name is Ford and he worked at the GM plant in Ontario before it shut down.My last name is snow so I guess I gotta like it... But you are right summer is always to short..
I would definitely keep that St Croix and your tight well insulated house then !I started burning on Sep 19. Since then, my daily average is 0.55 bags per day. My highest burning days so far were yesterday and Nov 19th. Both days I burned 1.25 bags.
40 bags so far since mid Nov. Mostly Ener.gold supremes with a few bags of Dry Creek thrown in . 2 tons left in garage . Have been up to 2 bags a day this week though here in N.N.Y. ,been 20 /25 below every morning .First year burning pellets so not to sure if that's average ,good or bad . Just know the furnace isn't running and the house is 75 deg. Can't wait for these cold snaps to take a hike, it's killing my pellet stash !
Down to 1 ton now, looks like I'll be doing the pellet hunt next week to replenish the stock in the basement.
-19C tonight and Friday's nighttime temp is predicted to be -23C, roll on next week, looks like there might be warmer weather on the way, just hope the snow stays away too.
How's everyone else doing pellet stash wise ?
Hmmm so it seems like quite a few folks are considering us at or better than halfway through winter!?!
Based on last year's numbers, I hit 50% of pellets consumed as of Jan 21. We're a bit south of many here, and our last day burning was close to tax day, 4/15 (which means Jan 6 was halfway point for heating season). I think those who think we're at halfway are a bit optimistic. Those at 60-65% just need to buy a calendar!
3 ton burned so far with 3 to go here in central paCan't wait for these cold snaps to take a hike, it's killing my pellet stash !
