[Hearth.com] 12 volt Diesel heater build

Anyone ever play with these? Cab heater, 12 volt, Diesel? Bought a couple last year and am now setting one up. (red chili flakes to the left, for the "girls" (chickens) I have 5 Cinnamon Queen, and 6 Leghorns, Love my girls, Leghorns lay more, than the the cinnamon queens, but i love all my girls the same :)

I just started looking into these. I'm trying to heat the coop when the temp drops below -10F. I can't do an elec heater and ran across these. The coop is about 300 sq. ft. and has about 70 chickens. With the 10L tank it should run all night. I saw one guy that hooked an old water radiator to the exhaust to capture that heat.

I have installed the marine equivalent in boats. They are a bit noisy but pump out good heat. Webasto and Espar are top manufacturers. They also made hot water equivalents that worked with radiator systems.

Long time ago I had a VW fastback equipped with a gas fired Webasto. It warmed up the car in about a minute in spite of below freezing temps.
