Added insulation at the back up to where it would not fit with the Durock in in front of it. This also proved support for the top.
I have a cab50 Heatilator that has to be the most unreliable heat source I have ever had as a heat source. The firepot constantly stops up and the thermostat is useless. I clean this piece of crap constantly but it does not seem to matter. My recommendation is to avoid this stove at all costs! Unless you like constant problems. Oh...I have replaced the “brains” of the heater 3 times in 5 years! Piece of crap.
