What do you do about that fireplace that draws heated air out of your house when you don't use it, and doesn't provide any heat when you do? Install a fireplace insert or hearth stove! | |||
Fireplace Inserts sit partially inside the fireplace, and are equipped with an outer shell to deliver heated air into the room and minimize heat loss to the masonry. Surround panels cover the fireplace opening, and a stainless steel liner extends to the top of the chimney. | Hearth Stoves have exhaust openings in the rear instead of on the top, to enable them to stand on the hearth and vent backward through the fireplace opening. A stainless steel tee is used to connect to a stainless chimney liner extending to the top of the chimney. |
All wood stoves sold in the U.S. except cookstoves and site-built fireplaces must comply with the EPA Phase II Wood Stove Emissions Regulations. These Federal Standards require that each wood burning stove be tested for particulate emissions and shown to produce fewer than 4.5 grams per hour. These high efficiency, EPA Approved wood stoves are exempt from "burn bans" that local air quality authorities may impose during episodes of high airborne pollution. Washington State has adopted even stricter air quality restrictions, requiring that all wood stove and fireplace installations in new homes draw their combustion air directly into the firebox from outside the house (this eliminates potential indoor air quality problems in Winter months when the stove or fireplace is burning). The result of this legislation is that today's wood stoves are the healthiest, most efficient and cleanest burning models ever built. The wood stoves we carry meet the EPA emissions requirements without catalytic converters. To read about why we've chosen non-catalytic clean air technology, click here. |

I am considering buying a wood stove insert for my fireplace and spent far to many hours searching the web for info. Then I found your site. It answered all my questions and was incredibly helpful. Thank you for taking the time to put it together and for maintaining it. Sincerely Nathan Berard in NH |
