We put in a new catalyst combustor in our Blaze King KEJ-1101 & the thermostat now goes from one side to the other & not just in the 1-3 area. It is also smokey when opening the front door. There is smoke & fire going through the pipe outside. What should the flap look like inside the thermostat area. There is a screw that will stop the flap to not open more & can not find a picture of that area.

Welcome to the forum kinsey. Not sure if it helps or is even relevant, but my tstat has a range from about 10 o'clock all the way around to 8 o'clock while 1 is at about 1 o'clock and 3 is about 5 o'clock. If the bypass door is not fully closed or even if it is and the air is wide open early in the burn, you will see smoke outside.
